A connected home, made visible
The brief
Create moving-image content for the SmartThings installation at ARTDOM. Light, movement and sound needed to express a simple relationship between people, their rooms and connected devices.
Our contribution
Arseniy Valter — art direction and 3D art. The work moves from storyboard and spatial studies into materials, lighting and finished animation, with the production team credited below.
The execution
The finished CGI film became part of the exhibition installation. A continuous thread of light connects the devices and interiors; the exhibition photographs show how that image was presented in the physical space.

Composition: compare the connecting gesture, the untextured room and its final lighting.
The line before the light.
The storyboard establishes the sequence. Untextured room studies make the spatial composition readable before colour, material and lighting are introduced.
Rooms connected by one gesture.
Arches, curtains and furniture create a calm domestic world. The light becomes the moving connection between spaces and the objects within them.

The exhibition display brings the screen content into a physical encounter with SmartThings.
